One day workshops are from 10am until 4pm unless otherwise stated. Bookings must be made in advance and accompanied by the full payment. A refund can only be given if 4 weeks notice of cancellation is received ( less £5 administration costs) *denotes new class. +denotes visiting tutor therefore no refund on cancellation. No Transfers can be made. We welcome BEGINNERS to all our workshops and courses unless otherwise stated.

Thursday 18 September TWO PLACES LEFT
Use simple machine stitchery to create a series of stunning fabric bowls - no-one will believ how quickly you made them! During the day you’ll create three different designs using machine satin stitch in a contrasting colour to edge and join the fabric shapes. If you’ve never tried this technique before, you’ll find it surprisingly easy. Use the finished bowls for holding jewellry, trinkets, keys, sweets, soaps etc - once you’ve made a few you’ll be hooked and will find all kinds of reasons to create more! Machine.

Capture the opulence of Ancient Egypt in these two striking wall-hangings, inspired by decorative motifs on items from Tutankamuns tresure. The designs are worked in stained glass patchworrk, using rich fabrics edged in gold or silver bias binding. Ideal for beginners and if you want to extend your skills you can embellish the completed designs in different ways

Come and learn all the basics you need to machine quilt. You will be shown straight line quilting using a walking foot, but the emphasis will be on getting control of those free-hand machine curves. You will practise, practise, practise, but go home more confident to tackle those quilt tops!

This is the quilt every Beginner feels they have to make! In each session, a patchwork or quilting topic is examined - the origins, techniques and variations. You then make a sample block, which is incorporated into your quilt and assembled by the quilt-as-you-go method. Machine & hand sewing |

ADVANCED SAMPLERS - Karin, Marion, Teresa (10 sessions) 10-3pm

Fridays from October 3 through to March 2009
One step further for those who have completed a sampler course. The 10 sessions will increase your techniques, developing your skills to give you confidence to design your own quilt from the centre out, within the format of build-a-quilt or medallion.

Our clubs are times when sewers can -get-together and work on their own projects in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Tutors available 10am - 12.30pm or all evening. Once enrolled you only pay when you come (£8)
Club members meet from 9.30am and often stay until closing!
