Free email sounds like a very good idea – and there’s plenty of choice, too. Hotmail. Yahoo! Google Mail. All easily accessible, all free, and all available whenever (and wherever) you can get to a computer. Hardly surprising, then, that millions of people use free email addresses all the time. But just think about that for a moment. If millions of people are using free addresses, how can the companies who provide them afford to maintain them all? Well, actually, they don’t. If you only use email occasionally, and your account is inactive for a few days, it will be shut down, temporarily, until you want to use it again, but shut down all the same. Which means you could miss a crucial email message in the mean time. Worse yet, it will bounce back to the sender with a message suggesting you no longer use that email address.
And worst of all, you could miss the Quilters Haven updates!
So what can you do about it? First, bite the bullet and pay something for a proper email address. These days you really will get value for money. And imagine getting a faster, cleaner, better internet connection that allows you to make the very most of a whole world of opportunity.
And second, please put [quilters.haven@btinternet.com and quilters.haven@bticonnect.com] into your list of safe senders. If you’re not sure how to do this, can we recommend a visit to www.emailtools.co.uk/tips/whitelisting.htm. or just do a Google search on ‘email whitelist’. This will ensure that your long-awaited newsletter doesn’t finish up in the spam bin – which really would be a dreadful waste!
