Arena Travel had organised a two hour bus tour around Trondheim for us this morning. This ended at the famous Nidaros Cathedral in the centre of the city.
From there our quilting group walked to the local quilt shop, considered to be one of the best in Norway, Quiltegaarden. Siv the owner welcomed us with fresh waffles, jam whipped cream and homemade spice cake all served with fresh brewed coffee.
There is a very different look to quilt shops in Norway. The decor so far has been fresh muted pastel showing off distinctive fabric choices. The shops look modern inside with simple clean cut lines and plenty of light. Two double glass doors led into the teaching area. This was full of students as one of the top quilt designers in Norway, AnnaKa was teaching! The icing on the cake as far as I was concerned! We were all introduced and some of us bought her patterns and had them autographed.
Samples of what AnnaKa was teaching.
Nicola – Eva gave me a big hug! It was such a surprise to see her and Merete a long arm quilter from Oslo introduced herself and sent her best wishes to you. It certainly is a small world!
Here we are group photo of all us quilters outside Quilteegaard.
