Creating a scene with Sally

I had a wonderful day yesterday at QH creating a scene with Sally Holman, who was with us for 2 days teaching.  Her workshop today was crazy patchwork, her unique take on this easy foundation method with embroidery and embellishments.

Anyway, my day was spent recreating one of my holiday photos of Crater Lake, Oregon, taken last year.  I always like to make a quilt to commemorate our holidays, having completed a New York Beauty; am in the middle of a Gaudi wall hanging and I thought I would do a pictorial quilt of our time last year, so Sally’s workshop was just the ticket.

I was very pleased with the result, although it will need detail to be added, but the foundation work is there.  So no excuses now;  I will have to look out more photos and get cracking.

Some photos were taken of our class and you can see me looking very studious with Sally and no that is not my quilt.  Sally really does bring these pictures to life.
